Conversion API or COM object

I'm an entry-level programmer using VB.NET and Visual [login to view URL] 2002. I need an API, library, .NET resource, or a COM object to integrate into my code. It needs to run on any Windows OS from 98 and higher. The purpose of this object is to convert from PDF and RTF/DOC file formats to plain text while retaining the bulk of the whitespace formatting, if possible. I can write a routine to strip out the post-script or the formatting characters but I get a spool of text that's pretty ugly. If there's anyone out there who can do this, I'd like help and would pay for the assistance. Additional requirements would include; that the object would have a very simple interface so that I, as a newbie-ish programmer (3 years), will be able to use it pretty easily, and secondly I need the object within 2 weeks of today's date (071204). I have requests for quotes in to a number of sources and am interested in hearing from anyone with the skill and drive to make this work. Sincerely, Jacob j[dot]metro[at]berneysystems[dot]com ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working COM or API as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the object in a ready-to-run condition in the development environment and can easily be transported to a production environment. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform This object needs to run in Windows 98 or better. Perferrably, it should function utilizing the interoperability protections afforded the .NET standard. Additionally, the object should have readily accessibly member functions (if I'm saying that correctly), or rather that the object should be well documented and possess the fewest number of functions in its namespace.
