Create htaccess file to redirect mobile users from one magento site to another

Mobile template we chose was not created to work with Magento's built-in redirection for mobile users (or whatever exception the user chooses). We have the mobile template all set up and ready to go under another subdomain, but our host was unable to write/re-write the htaccess file to direct mobile users to the subdomain. Quick job if you know what you're doing. I'm not a coder and need this done a.s.a.p.
