While our environment is collaborative and relaxed, we build products that are well-considered and well-architected. We're hiring talented Front End Engineers who want to build ambitious products using modern tools. "Front end engineer" can mean many things. At Postlight, it refers to a person who can build entire front end web applications, using modern tooling and frameworks, across web and mobile platforms. We ship, and we ship often. Millions of people use our products and we support them for years. As a result, we care very, very deeply about code quality. The thought process behind a line of code is just as important as the line itself. We review pull requests and love having discussions about how solutions can be made DRYer, clearer, and safer. We use the right tools for the job. That means that we're always evaluating ways to work smarter and faster, and looking for ways to get the maximum amount of joy out of the job. The upshot is that we use modern tools on a modern stack: JavaScript ES20XX and beyond using Babel GitHub and GitHub Flow CSS Preprocessors (e.g. PostCSS and Sass) React, Vue.js, Ember, or any other nifty front end frameworks Webpack, Grunt, Gulp SVG and SVG Animation Node (API, CLI, etc.) Hubot with way too many plugins Moment, Lodash, Bluebird, and other indispensable libraries We don't expect applicants to have experience with everything on this list. Many of our own front-end developers learned skills from this list just in the last year. Expect this list to change frequently as we read tweets, follow Hacker News, and snoop on new GitHub repositories.
