Watch video recordings of selected talks from a conference and write a summary of the key points. Here is the list of talks that we would like you to summarize for us as part of your AWE project. [login to view URL] Recordings of these talks will become available on the event youtube channel which is referenced at the bottom of the document. You can use this spreadsheet to track which ones you completed, and you can place a link to the google doc with your summary in the same row. You can proceed in any order that interests you. Your summary document should include the following: Title of the Talk Name, Title & Company of the speakers URL link to the video (please also add video link directly in the spreadsheet) URL links to the companies or products represented or mentioned in the talk An opening paragraph that outlines the primary topic, main argument, and conclusion. This should be a bite-size synopsis. (approx 6 sentences, variable) A bulleted summary of the key points or importantly actionable takeaways from the talk. If you see a slide that is very helpful for understanding the topic or conveying an important idea, take a screenshot and include it in your paper. Pay close attention to actionable data or suggestions, and be sure to capture these points. Put yourself in the shoes of New Reality Arts as a company who sells AR and VR development services. Think about what knowledge we can put to use in order for our business to be successful (i.e. gain clients, reduce costs, avoid mistakes, gain a strategic advantage) Here's a little more on what I mean by actionable data. For example, if a speaker says that the Travel industry is projected to be the biggest spender in AR in 2018, that's really important for us to know. Because we can then target our advertising to the Travel industry and go after the customer segment most likely to buy from us. (hint: we like charts and numbers about industry size) Or if you hear something like: Hololens just lost all their funding because it turns out they were faking it. That's important because we could avoid selling Hololens development. Or if you hear that studies show that users of VR found gaze-targeted navigation easier to use than ray-casting by a margin of 80/20, that's very useful because it guides us to design patterns that are likely to be more successful.
