Build a Yii Web Application

You are required to build a prototype webApp called ‘Feed-Cloud’ a student feedback portal that allows students to upload their feedback from modules, undertake SWOT analysis and produce actions plans based on this. At present, students read feedback on Blackboard, but often do not take action based on the feedback. Feedback Action Plans will be now part of the student learning experience and there is an opportunity to build a webApp to manage the whole process. It envisaged that whilst students will administer their feedback, personal tutors will have read access to the feedback and action plans. Users should be able to create a new academic year, add a new module, add a feedback file to that module. You will also have to be able to edit and delete these entities. There must be a way for students to register and login. You can develop the webApp entirely in Yii or use part of Yii and develop a separate webApp (use the models and controllers in Yii, but adopt a responsive framework). WebApp Prototype: The proof on concept prototype will be a limited working version: You have two choices: 1. Build application entirely within Yii, using the built in views – but change the standard template as appropriate. 2. Build in HTML5 and CSS3 / utilising an appropriate responsive framework and link to Yii controllers for getting and posting data. This is a brand new webApp and as such there is no existing web presence or company logo/branding. We require an appropriate visual design, colour scheme, layout and navigation that is appropriate for the context in which the webApp will be used. Required Functional and non-functional requirements: - Must allow a user to register using their email address. The User Password must be encrypted using SHA512 and salted. - Must include students first and last name and student id or staff id - Must allow user to login with their email address (staff and student) - Must allow the user to create a new academic year. - Must allow the user to create a new module. - Must allow the users to view a feedback file. - Must allow the users to view a feedback SWOT analysis. - Must allow the users to view a feedback action plan. - Must allow the user to edit the entities. - Must allow the user to delete the entities. - Ability to use the app on a smart phone device, phablet, tablet and desktop device. - User dashboard should include functionality associated with the functions. Required Content Areas for the Prototype WebApp: Home Screen (not logged in), Dashboard Screen (logged in user) showing user details, list of modules organised by year. SWOT analysis for that year, along with an action plan should be shown. You can use an appropriate HTML responsive framework, jQuery / JavaScript, PHP (Yii) and MySQL in the development of the app.
