A small sacle website is to be built. It will be a cross between LinkedIn and Wikipedia and Quora. Let me brief on the type of users. Admin (approx 10) to moderate and verify users. Users(1k) who will have profiles and reply to queries by guests as well as create a knowledge bank. Guests(1k) who will have profiles and read the knowledge bank and post queries for users to revert to. Now the various workflows. Home page Banners containing [login to view URL] to other sections. Profiles. A page for displaying the details and picture. An option for direct message. also a unique usename for direct mentions. Knowledge bank A central repository of all the content developed by users. Forums Queries will become threads visible to all. They will be categorised and according to classification mails will be sent to associated users. The reply to mails to be automatically added as reply in the thread. Moderation allowed. Abusive words to be automatically filtered out. Search functionality There has to be search functionality which will search in all three sections (profile, knowledge bank and forum) as per requirement. Messaging Direct messages to come to this mailbox in profile. Where it can be replied etc. The entire look to be a cross between casual and formal, not too funky, maybe on the edge. The colours used to be pastel. The fonts modern thin fonts.
