Hello i am experienced Linux admin, i am interested in your project. i think you should use something like transparent proxy to do this. If your student changes his dnses he will have Access to blocked sites via dns. that od why you should consider proxy. Of course three is the trick to block via dnses even when when he change Has nameservers - you will need to route all udp traffic on 53 port to your server.
