Scope the project: A. Determine the MS SQL Server environment, including version and configuration of SQL Server and Excel and other available software. B. Determine the nature of the data source and understand the data model. C. Determine the data destination and the desired final result of the completed task. D. Determine the proper processes to accomplish any transformations (data type, additional fields, etc.) needed. 2. Initial workflow design and documentation. 3. Present the design: A. Present the initial package design B. Agree on any needed changes, the task sign-off schedule, and other technical details. C. Provide the design documentation. 4. Develop the package: A. Create/adjust my development environment as needed to match your environment. B. Develop the package based on agreed upon design. C. Unit test the package in my test environment. 5. Testing and final sign off. A. Provide the package for testing in your environment, as agreed upon. B. Provide adjustments/fixes as needed. C. Obtain final sign off of completed solution. D. Provide all documentation and source code used in solution. This framework is a guideline. The timeline for completion of the solution, as always, depends on the details.
