I decided to bid on this project because I've did something very similar to this before :-) My proposed solution is not to use Arduino but ESP8266 to create a Wireless RFID access control system. Basically, each NodeMCU ESP8266 will connect to 1 RFID reader. The ESP8266 is configured to connect to WiFi and then call Rest API to build a list of authorized RFID periodically. User will scan their RFID tag to the RC522 RFID reader, which is connected to ESP8266 via SPI interface. Then ESP8266 will verify the scanned tag with the list of authorized RFID and output a GPIO pin if the scanned tag is authorized or not. Notice that with this proposal, each ESP8266 can only connect to an RC522 reader only. However, since the ESP8266 cost will be very cheap (around $4-$5), that should be OK and you will get rid of all the wiring. I assume that you already have the backend code in the web server to pull a list of authorized RFID from mySQL database. If you need to do the backend job, I can handle that as well but with additional cost (not included in this bid). Please feel free to chat with me if you have any question.

All connected in parallel on the same network 2) RS485 shield for Arduino ($6) 3) PC server with usb connection to Arduino. MySQL database with access codes. Please contact me if interested.
