Transport Invoicing System (TIS) is an existing system for recording transport jobs after the work has been done and calculating pricing and costs based on Tonnage of the job and hours taken to transport the goods. Customers and Drivers have negotiated rates for each Tonnage rate. The current system saves each entry and periodically allows the operator to automatically post a sales invoice to the customer and a purchase invoice to the supplier/driver.
The current system has the following problems:
* Not able to operate in a multi-user mode. Only 1 workstation at a time can process a transaction
* There are doubts about compatibility with later Microsoft Operating Systems
* The developer is no longer available to maintain the system
Reliability problems requiring regular rebuilding of the Borland dBASE IV database
A rewrite of TIS is required with essentially the same functionality.
The preferred development language for TIS is Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 with the database stored in Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
TIS will read customer and supplier information from the host accounting system known as Sybiz Vision. The database for Sybiz Vision is Microsoft Visual Foxpro 3.0 format DBF/CDX/FPT file extensions. TIS will generate output to a table: [login to view URL] which is then import into Sybiz Vision to process Sales and Supplier Invoices.
The screen shots shown in this document are from the existing system to illustrate the general layout of the application. There are no changes required to the “look and feel?? of the application, although cosmetic changes to “modernise?? the layout would be welcomed.
Note: there are quite a few Crystal Reports required as well. Please view the attachment for examples.
## Deliverables
A number of Crystal Reports are also required. Please refer to the attached PDF for examples and data structures.
