Reports programming - Java, etc.

The first of many such projects, we need a programming partner to create four reports for our management web portal. Detailed information (including dbSchema, ORM mappings and "sample" HTML reports) is available for this project. Here are the basics of our system: We run primarily on a straight-forward java servlet platform. The server is Tomcat Server 5.5 running Java 1.4.2 (though we'll be moving to Java 5.x soon) Spring MVC 2.x is being used to manage the servlet container and Spring AOP for transaction management. Although we use MySql database, we're trying to use as little SQL or JDBC as possible. To help with this we are using Hibernate 3.x ORM to handle most data access. For this project, we're creating a series of small reports to help our clients understand and manage their warranty responsibilities. The reports will be available through our management web portal. The inspiration for these reports is the QuickBooks report system so if possible we'd like them to function as much as possible like QuickBooks. For example, most of the reports will have a few variables (date range, sorting, etc) that can be customized on the fly by the user. Also some reports require a drill-thru capability, going from summary data to detail with a single click. To handle this kind of interactivity in our current system, we're using JasperReports along with some simple Ajax calls, but we'd be open to other technologies (e.g., Flash) as long as performance can be maintained. Finally, because our customers are often in the field and only occasionally connected, we must be able to print and/or email any report. Again, JasperReports is our tool to create PDF documents that can be sent as email attachments or printed. I think this sums everything up. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck! ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
