I have spent a while learning basic ActionScript 3 and built a simple 3 page flash photography showreel hobby site.
It is all working well and can be viewed at [login to view URL]
I am not experienced in AS3 at all. The site has been built using a bunch of tutorials and forums but I feel its pretty well coded. There are no errors in the debug of the working site.
Unfortunately it can take a few seconds to load (600kb) and therefore I wanted to add a pre-loader to it. I have spent too long trying to get one to work. I always get errors that may be simply fixed by experienced coders!
I already have the preloader I want and I can get it to work (to a degree) if I select 'Merged into code' in the Runtime Shared Library Settings but unfortunately this adds 200kbs to the file size rendering the pre-loader a bit pointless.
I am almost certain that the errors occur from the order I have laid my scripting out and not importing the right classes on the first frame. Everything on the site is laid out using scripting as the site resizes to the window on re-scale.
NOTE: I use SlideShowPro and Thumbgrid ([login to view URL]) so someone with knowledge of this would be extremely helpful.
The main issue seems to be coming from TLF TEXT and RSL which I know very little about - certainly not enough to fix errors they cause.
DELIVERY:
The flash file will be delivered with fully neatly annotated code so it wont be a mess and easily understandable! The file will include no pre-loader and will be the one that the current working side was exported from.
I will also deliver the font I use and a file showing the pre-loader attempts for guidance only.
The pre-loader has already been designed and is ready to move over and integrate into the current working file.
MY EXPECTATIONS:
- The working file delivered back with a working preloader that shows quickly and runs well. I have had one working before but it started at 50%+ which again made it a bit pointless.
- The AS3 to be looked over and 'optimised' to make sure I am not using additional unnecessary code
- Make sure the script runs in the correct order and doesn't need re-ordering
BUDGET:
Sorry about the low budget. This is only a hobby website and I wont be getting any money in from it. I just want to finish it off and get it online so I appreciate anyone willing to help me out with this last step.
I am a fast payer and will get back with any questions extremely quickly.
THANKS!
