Now I've finally had a look at the data from excel, it all looks great, thank you.
As you know, the next step is to repeat the process and get it into MySQL.
Rob says not to worry about using windows scheduler - we're happy to have a button to press which just downloads new matches.
I've made some adjustments to the columns, highlighted in yellow on the attached layout plan:
On timeline -
1) Points are the number of points scored from that event - it obviously only applies to scoring plays. A try or penalty try is 5 points, a drop goal or penalty goal is 3 points and a conversion is 2 points. Any other event is not a scoring play and should be left blank please. We need these numbers as values please.
2) ScoringPlay# is the total number of scoring plays up until that point.
3) ValueTime is the event time as a value. The only difference is for anything that happens in injury time (it's not called that in Rugby but same principle), where the time is listed as 40+2 for example. In which case, only the 40 goes into ValueTime.
4) The +2 goes in to ValueMinute. In the majority of cases, where there is no +, this should be 0.
5) Conceding Team ID is the team the opposition to TeamID - so if England are playing Argentina, and England score a try, then ConcedingTeam is Argentina and ConcedingTeamID is 10. Obviously if England make a sub, then Argentina aren't really conceding, but happy to have them in for subs/cards etc for consistency.
6) ConcedingTeam is conceding team name instead of their ID.
On Player:
1) Minutes is the amount of time the player was on the pitch for - so TimeOff - TimeOn
2) We need all the minute values - TimeOn, TimeOff and Minutes - as values please.
I've put it as a simple project, because I'm still getting used to freelancer and it seems easier to manage with a fixed price. Hope that's OK. I'm also not quite sure how to do deal with the money we owe you from the previous project - you could add the total to this one if you like, or we could pay you directly through paypal?
Let me know if you have any questions,
Stuart
