Build a Website

Website using Rails For   this   project,   you   will   create   a   website   called   Dock   Assistant   that   is   to   be   used   by   a   large   retail  complex  to  manage  their  loading  dock  operations.  The  high  level  features  will  include  management  of   dock   personnel,   booking   an   appointment   by   a   vendor,   and   assignment   and   time-‐‑tracking   for  dock   workers. Management   of   Dock   Personnel The  loading  dock  manager  maintains  a  list  of  dock  workers  that  can  be  assigned  to  a  dock  to  handle  a   shipment.   Each   worker’s   name,   address,   and   pay   rate   will   be   stored   in   the   system.   The   manager  can   view   a   report   showing   the   hours   worked   for   each   worker   over   a   selectable   timeframe,   as   well  as  the  pay  due  for  work  performed. Booking   an   Appointment   by   a   Vendor Vendors  can   book  an  appointment  to  deliver  a   shipment.  The  vendor  should   be  able  to  select  a   date  and   time   for   the   delivery.   Based   on   availability,   the   system   will   reserve   a   dock   for   the   delivery.   The  total   number   of   available   docks   should   be   configurable.   An   appointment   reserves   the   dock   for   one  hour.   The   dock   manager   should   be   able   to   assign   any   number   of   dock   workers   for   each  appointment.  Of  course,  dock  workers  cannot  be  assigned  to  more  than  one  appointment  in  a  given  time  block. Reports In   addition   to   the   dock   worker   report   mentioned   above,   a   report   showing   the   overall   utilization   of  the   docks   should   be   available   for   review   by   the   dock   manager.   The   time   frame   covered   by   the  report  should  be  selectable.  The  report  should  include,  at  minimum, • • • • the   %  of  time  that  each  dock  is  in  use the  total  number  of  appointments the  total  dock  worker  payroll the  average  dock  worker  payroll  per  appointment
