Thank you Kristin for posting this interesting project on Freelancer.
Filemaker is the right platform for your needs and I can be the right developer to build your Contacts database. No I'm not from Arizona myself (as seem to be most of the people involved in the making of the Opera); but I can see that even Mr. Harada is not, so I hope to have a chance to join you in this challenge!
Rather than customizing a starter solution, I would build a custom solution from scratch. Experience tells me this is the way that leads the best results for my clients.
I have a 15+ years history in building database and I love my job. My first effort is always to get a good understanding of my client's needs and I then focus on providing a clean and simple interface that let users concentrate on their 'real' work and not on figuring out how the software works
The content search of Word or Pdf stored docs is possible by using a plug-in such as 'Scribe', from 360works. Scribe costs $95 per user (it is necessary to have it to store the docs, not to perform the search). If you run it in Demo mode ($0), you must restart the database after 2 hours to continue use it, but it is fully operational otherwise.
You will be able to manage (add/edit/delete) groups and subgroups yourself.
I'm immediately available and can provide the first version in less than one week. I'm also ready to discuss your project on Skype and to provide samples of my work
Best regards,
Alex Barattieri
