As a slight modification to your idea, we could also hold off loading until the user stops scrolling, so that videos a user scrolls past (even slowly) aren't loaded. This would be easy to implement. Another possible idea would be pausing (easy) or even 'unloading' (tricky) videos that have stayed off page for some time. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss.

I have a post on a WordPress site with over 200 embedded YouTube videos on it. Lazy loading is already enabled, but I'm still not entirely satisfied with the way the videos are loaded. For example, if someone scrolls to the bottom of the page, all the videos try to load up at once which slows down the site considerably (even freezes the page sometimes). I'd like someone who is an expert in Wordpress and coding to help me with this, so that the videos are only loaded if they stay in the user's screen for at least x amount of time. OR I'm open for your suggestions on how to improve the loading/speed of the page. If you're interested please let me know and i'll send you the link to the particular page.
