Script to modify an excel file

I just read it all and there are still tings you failed to address, so, even though you wrote that if we have questions not to bid, here they are: 1) You did not note what the 'partial' output files naming convention would be(this is expected, if what you say about the 11000 rows is true, on each and every run, so it's important not to overwrite outputs)? 2) There's no mention if the "quantity and tax" columns in the output will be "static" or calculated in any way? 3) There's no mention where any of the "suppliername,ImageAll,proImg1,proImg2,proImg3,proImg4,prodImages" columns data for the output will come from. Please elaborate further on these so the task ahead can be properly assessed. Regards, Dobri

I understand you need a shell script to (a bash script) to download an Excel file from a remote FTP server and format it according to the given specification, move the original file to an archive folder renaming it adding a timestamp. Hello, I have read through your job description and reviewed the example excel files you provided for both the original and formatted files. I can create you a single PERL script that can be run via a CRON job to handle every step you have outlined from the FTP, Decompression, Excel formatting, and final output. I have created similar scripts many times before and have worked with all of the PERL modules needed to perform these operations. I have also done similar scripts using PHP but I find that PHP becomes a bit of a memory hog when processing large Excel files, so PERL is preferable to keep the server resource usage down.
