High Speed Efficient ASP.NET SQL DATA IMPORT in CODE

Hi, This can be achieved by using OPENXML in SQL Server. Application will read text file and prepare XML from data. That xml data will be passed to SQL Stored Procedure. Note: We need Stored Procedure for this approach. All data will be imported in one round-trip to sql server. Other approach is to use BULK-INSERT but in this case text file should be directly visible/reachable to remote SQL Server. I have 8.5 years experience in SQL Server 2005|2008|2008R2|2012 and involve in designing databases, Indexing Strategies, table partitioning, writing Stored Procedures, Triggers, functions and views. I have expertise in writing complex queries with proper joins and index selection. In past, i involved in balancing between concurrency and locking and lock escalation. Hi, first of all thank you for clarifying your requirements. As I tell my clients that the data travels over the internet and there will be issues over it, like the upload speed. But its a good thing you clarified you are looking for a generic stored procedure and my specialization falls in creating generic or codes that require minimal updating. Q# 1: can you provide me the transactions or data that needs to be uploaded into SQL database? I believe an estimate will be good as I am only interested in the volume that will be sent over HTTP. Q# 2: does it really have to be that the data is uploaded over HTTP? I mean is it an option to have the data file zipped with password, then uploaded into the server. On the other end, the zip file is downloaded then you have a utility (windows service, that monitors if there is a file) that extracts the zip file and performs the upload to the database. Thanks.
