We want to automate the following task: - watch a folder - when a csv file appears in the folder (it is copied there by a batch task from an FTP location): move it to a location that has to be deduced from the name of the csv file - rename the file based on the content of the first line - open the csv file in Excel and open a master Excel file with calculations in a number of consecutive columns - copy the columns with calculations to the csv file - save the csv file as excel file Have a look at the attached files. The [login to view URL] file is what you get as input, the [login to view URL] file is the expected output. The [login to view URL] file is the master file with the calculations. The destination folder has to be deduced from the code PRG180001 in the file name. PRG is a customer code and represents a customer. You would need to read a configuration file that contains the customer code and the respective folder name. We would update this configuration file on a regular basis. The columns with the calculations should be read from the file [login to view URL] every time the program is executed because we would like to be able to change the calculations ourselves.

Hello. I checked all 3 files and the specifications. I am a vb.net programmer and I work with those kind of files all the time. I will create a program in vb.net which will watch the directory for new files and then when a new file arrives make the rename, calculations and folder creation. It can read from the settings file whatever data you want so it will be customized. One thing that is important with excel files, is that the layout and the line numbers must remain the same in the calculations file. Excel is not a database so its read by line unless it has column titles in the first line. I can start the program today and have it ready within 2-3 days. Regards, Marina Louki
