I ported an msdos app to linux which use a parallel port dongle (key). Everything works fine but I'd like not to need this dongle because I can't use the dongle in modern computers. I use dosemu to run the msdos app and I can force the app to use an specific driver for parallel port operations, so I guess one could write a driver to emulate the dongle behaviour. I'm not really sure since I'm not a kernel freak, but if possible this is what I need. I can open ports to my computer so the bidder can log in and check the communications of the software with the dongle. I'll need the source code of the driver to compile it by myself, not only the ko file.

Hello , I have bachelor's degree in computer science and i have been programming in C/C++ for both linux and windows for more than 8 years.I have written various network applications some of which are down to the IP packet level. I have written a linux based network packet analyzer without using except the standard C library. and also written simple versions of network diagnostic tools ping and traceroute. Additionally I have previous experience with python,php and perl. let me know if you're interested.

When you hire me, you will get the binary and source code for a kernel module that will emulate the dongle. It will be for the current mainline kernel, unless otherwise agreed. I have extensive experience with debugging on Linux, and I have contributed bug fixes to the Linux kernel (as well as other opensource projects). I will require you to provide SSH root access to a [virtual] machine with the dongle plugged in, either via parallel port, or via USB parallel port emulator.
