Social Network Membership site with Project Management tools

I am looking to create a membership site with social network functionalities, as well as a series of online web apps. I want no Flash, and if at all possible, I want it to run smoothly on the iPad browser. ===================== The regular side of the page will allow you to create a profile and select a layout from a set of created templates. On this profile you can host your picture, bio, interests, link to friends (all like any other social network) as well as host videos, pictures, (sort of an online portfolio of your work) as well as list projects you have worked on. The projects will usually be films, and will be linkable like [login to view URL] (you can click a link and be taken to a profile page for the film itself, which will link you to all the involved parties from there). All these files will be managed via an online file manager app. You will also be able to do a search for other members by zipcode (from information they give when they sign up), as well as a set of interests they also give when signing up. They will also be able to have a blog on their profile. They will be able to choose what is 'featured' on their profile (be it blog, videos, pictures, bio, etc. Im thinking a series of moveable content boxes when setting up the profile) There will also be a forum on the site for people to use. It will be covered under the free membership option. The beating heart of the website will be a series of Web Apps. A user will be able to create a new project. The project will have a series of available tools. The tools are broken down into two categories. Production and Management. Management tools will be much like what you find on any project management page. Basecamp is a great example. There should be a - File manager - Calendar (similar in execution to google calendars) - Messages (email/forum style) - Instant Messaging - To-do/milestones/deadlines - Contacts (members can be added with a single confirmation click, or people can be added manually. They can also be given admin status on a project, or limited access/viewability) - Notes/Writeboard The other tools will be similar to the file uploaded. A series of editable, saveable text based projects. Different tools will have different parameters. The script editor will be the most complex, and should basically function the same as the uploaded file (following proper formatting structures, saving scenes, characters, etc in a database) These databases can be called on by other tools for further editing. All of the other tools will be more form based and less complex than the script tool. All will be exportable as .PDF. Access and ability to edit these will be determined by Admins, which are set in the contacts panel. =================== Thats the basics! Something to keep in mind, this is a website directed at artists in various fields. Interface is of the utmost priority! It has to be elegant in function and form! I don't want a site that looks like a cheap template with basically functioning tools. Think Apple. That little extra touch that drives people to your product.
