I have a Masters Degree in Geographic Information Science and Technology, however, my undergraduate education is in Historcial Archaeology. I have participated in a conference presentation on using GIS in archaeology and historical research as well as applied my skills to several local archaeological projects. With this background, I will have a different outlook on the project than someone based in the GIS industry alone. Historical sites and roads can take a vastly different route and create a different cartographic environment when viewed against current satellite imagery.
