Detect Wireless Networks

Phase one of this project is a Windows-based application that detects all wireless networks in proximity. Included in the reported information must be the network name, SSID, and encryption type. Relative signal strength as additional information would be welcome. Any additional information that is available can also be collected as it may eventually be useful. The program must be written in C++, preferring Visual C++ 2005 or 2008. All code must be clearly commented. If an add-on library is necessary, the MicroOLAP Packet Sniffer SDK is the one to use. The project will need this for other functionality that will be added in later phases. There is a trial version that can be downloaded at [login to view URL] Not included in this phase of the project, but in a future phase of the project, is the need to capture the encryption hashes for WEP, WPA, and WPA2. When you bid, you can indicate that you would like to also do this in this first phase, and state your cost (paid as a bonus). ## Deliverables The final project (this first phase being only the start) will perform the following: 1) Detect wireless networks in proximity (this is the phase which is being bid upon), including all obtainable information. Additional phases will perform the following: 2) Obtain encryption hash (this is phase two and you can add this to the bid if you would like to also do this. Include a cost and it will be paid as a bonus if accepted.) 3) Access a remote server that will use rainbow tables to identify the password. (I will do this myself)
