I would like to build a simple website that will report statistics about a marketplace (such as Rent A Coder).
We have hourly data from the marketplace, regarding the various tasks that are available, the total amount of value of the posted projects, and so on.
So, I would like to have a website with (one or more) graphs like the ones that appear in Google Finance. I have built a first version at [login to view URL]~panos/mturk/[login to view URL]
I need to have more interactivity however. First, retrieving the data from the MySQL database should be done in a more scalable way. Also, showing the number of new projects posted at a specific time point, and the number of projects that stopped being available at that time (e.g., this can be displayed at the top text bar as the user moves the mouse.) When the user clicks on that number, the website can direct the user to a new page that shows the actual projects completed and the projects that were just posted.
The data are stored in a MySQL database (MySQL 3.23.53a). Preferably the website should be built using PHP (my host has PHP 5.1.6).
## Deliverables
You can propose your own solution for generating the charts.
I checked a little bit, and I think that the Google Visualization API should work well for this project.

In particular, the "Annotated Timeline" piece seems to be a good fit for this project:
