We would like to offer our clients the ability to do a live stock check in Magento. A button on the product page would run a program to retrieve the latest stock level for the product from the supplier, update the database and replace the "In stock" text with the actual quantity. The stock level would need to be retrieved with a web scrape from password protected sites as our distributors do not have an API to retrieve the information. We want to start with two suppliers and the program must be designed to cater for additional suppliers which would form part of future work.
