An alternative gotomypc.com solution based on VNC.

I have attached an image where I've described my ideas. Most of it is described there, but there are a few more details that have to be explained: 1. Encryption is not necessary, unless it's easy to include somehow. 2. The reason for using the TightVNC insted of the regular VNC is that most of today's computers are fast enough to decrypt the data in a fairly fast pace. The problem is most often the bandwidth... 3. I'm not really sure that my firewall solution will work, but I think so!(?). Important is to use the 443 port. The 80 port is sometimes scanned by the firewall. 4. The settings in the server and viewer should have default values that benefit a slow connection, i.e. 8-bit color, high compression etc... However, you should be able to change these, but one shouldn't have to change anything unless he needs to. 5.
