Animated Alert App

A simple desktop alerts program. When activated the program displays an animated icon/graphic (such as a bee or bird) that sweeps in an arc across the screen. This is to get the attention of the user. After the sweep the icon/graphic stays on the screen and jiggles and comes to the front of other apps (in effect demanding attention) until the user clicks on the icon. Clicking on the icon stops the sweep and the animation and triggers an event in the code that shows a future status screen. For now it can bring up a blank form. When not activated the program runs in the background and has an entry in the system tray with a pop-up screen that sets the sweep timing, jiggle amount, and time between jiggles. Activation occurs via a future interprocess communication (IPC). For now the app can simply monitor a database table in MS Access for an entry presence and activate when detected. A datetime column can be used with the entry and then the app ignores that row after activation and looks for a new entry. For now, just something to provide a flexible means of activation. The icon/graphic should be selectable and support common graphic formats of JPG and GIF. The big thing here besides the sweep is to show the graphics without a frame or background box, i.e. the graphic needs some sort of function to make the background transparent so one just sees the object (bee, bird, etc.). This may need to be a separate program for preparing the graphic. The idea is that the user can use some of their own graphic images. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Microsoft Windows XP. Desktop app written in C# using .NET graphics libraries without any third party DLLs, libraries, or unmanaged code.
