A simple DLL

I want an automated way to supply documents in old Macintosh Word 6 .doc format. RTF format does not handling graphics very well on the Macintosh. The solution I am thinking is to use the WordPad engine available from Microsoft. For example, there is a shareware program called CWordPad (see attached file, you can download it and run it): "CWordPad is based on WordPad source code distributed by Microsoft to users of Microsoft's Visual C++ development system and the Microsoft Foundation Classes product. Output formats can be in ASCII (.txt), Word (.doc), Write (.wri) or Rich Text (.rft) format." The following is what I want but because I am not a programmer, my terminology may not be totally correct: a simple DLL which can run on a server so that when we give it a RTF file, it will open it and save it as a Word 6 .doc file, just like what CWordPad can do but without any user interface. So I think it only needs one method. My ISP says the DLL (or COM or OCX or ActiveX... I don't understand the differences) must be registerable by running regsvr32.exe. The current Wndows server is running ASP Classic so the DLL needs to work with ASP Classic but it should be made as "flexible" as possible so that if I should change hosting, there is a good chance I can still use it. You are not responsible for installing the DLL on the server but you are responsible for fully testing it on your own server environment. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
