Dear Sir, I have 2.5+ years of experience in product development (chairs and tables) for a leading US furniture manufacturer. I have developed a chair for kids and an line of activity tables for schools. I have knowledge in BIFMA standards and took part in a cross function team. I have worked on tables which has many edge configurations such as T-Mold, Kinfe edge and so on. I have hands on experience for Product Requirement Document(PRD) to Proto and Manufacturing release. In those 4 years I have designed many intricate mechanisms such as those used in winch braking systems and mining equipment controls. As of the Project execution is concerned for this Product Design, the milestones that are to be met are as follows: 1. Concept Design - will comprise of simple Pencil sketches followed by Concepts of 3D CAD Model 2. Detail Design - after the review, interaction and feedback, we shall tweak the concept to provide much more details about would it actually be in 3D. P.S : 3D CAD Modeling will be carried out in Solidworks 3. Design Validation - The design shall be validated using FEA. Here I intend to use Solidworks Simulation Premium for FEA on the Product, this will help in seamless interaction between the 3D CAD environment and FEA environment, and from my experience, under the same set of conditions, Solidworks Simulation and Ansys yield very close results. Use of tool is immaterial. 4. Creation of FEA report and FEA Result Interpretation 5. Design Tweaks if any after running the FEA 6. Detail Drawings - 2D Drawing creations for the Product. 7. Review and QC shall be carried at every stage. The idea of the product is to create a modular DIY Smart desk, where it easy to assembly, carry, and maintain. Hope I have got the idea right !

I am a Product Design Engineer with skills uniquely suited to this project. I will be able to provide a number of initial concept sketches very rapidly in order to find the correct aesthetic and features before moving on to CAD models and detailed technical drawings. I also have the ability to produce working models and full scale prototypes of the design that will allow us to verify design decisions. I will be able to work a flexible number of hours over the next month ensuring that we complete the project as rapidly as possible. The real challenge of this project is in the new connection mechanism for the legs of the desk.
