It is becoming increasingly difficult to manage this content and a common customizable CMS solution is needed. A coherent theme and style are needed, along with W3C compliant HTML markup. Standardization in the design and HTML markup will lead to speed increases in design and roll-out of sites, sections and pages, along with better accessibility and usability for website visitors.   Standardization of user access and profile management: [login to view URL] has various sections that require user registration (Forums, Rentals, Mailings, Archive News, Bookings, etc.). Users have multiple profiles, using multiple usernames and passwords that can be very confusing. A customizable profile management system is needed so that users have one common profile, username and password that works across all sections, allowing for easy profile management. The profile management system needs to be compatible with Facebook fConnect API.   Common and scalable database structure (MySQL & PHP): [login to view URL] has various databases, utilizing various structures and formats. This makes it difficult to share, search and move the data around. A common scalable structure needs to be implemented in order to allow for easier data handling, across all websites, now and in the future.   CMS: - PHP / MySQL based on Drupal - Template and CSS based for easy changes in look and feel (see current home page). - Integration into our current site structure ([login to view URL]). Admin: - Add / Edit / Deactivate / Delete stories (Headline, body and images). - Add / Edit / Deactivate / Delete Content (images, text, documents, etc) - WYSIWYG content editing. ([login to view URL]) - Custom META keywords/description tags and page titles. - Moderation and workflow (Draft / Approve / Publish). - Category and Story Management (Add / Edit / Deactivate / Delete). - Image, video and docs archive and retrieval. ([login to view URL]) - Ability to attach files to stories. - Integrated image processing. Scaling and resizing of commonly used image formats. - Link management. Detects broken links and keep internal links after move, rename or delete operations. - Google News friendly URL's for Daily News and retain existing URL structure for current sections. - User submitted story, review, edit and publish ability. - Newsletter export function. Export selected news stories as a formatted text document. - Content tagging. User: - User commenting system with spam protection.
