audio connector/mono rca speaker problem

Hello, I have a cctv system and at the back it have rca mono connectors for microphone and speakers. I'm having a hard time understanding what goes where. Attached you can find an image from the manual explaining the connectors. What i am doing so far: - i have an rca mic and inserted it into the "mic" rca output of the cctv system - i have a standard pair of speakers (3.5mm) and used a "3.5mm Mono Jack Socket to Mono RCA Phono Plug Audio Adapter" (photo attached with this bid) so that the speaker connector is inserted into the adapter and then the adapter to the "AOUT" of the cctv system. the problem is that it does not work. any advice? thank you jo

I guess there is something wrong with the image you provided as mic is written above aout and the arrow shows that connect an audio output device to the mic port( 3rd port top row) I have a dvr and I guess that I can solve your problem just give me the model no. of that DVR.
