My understanding is you already have PDF documents with sensitive data like account numbers in it and you want a tool that should take this PDF as input and produce another PDF by repacing the sensitive data with masked items like XXXX or so. I have used Java IText library and XSLT transformers in my projects to achieve these results effectively and can turn this around for you in quick time. Please, provide me with a sample PDF. Regards

I have worked on this kind of development to filter the special character. technique is simple - develop a java program which insert the pdf file and read the file line by line and remove the required sensitive data.

Please let me know about following few points so that I can develop some better solution for you. 1.) Do you want to create a copy of bank-statement pdf without sensitive data? 2.) Do you want to replace the existing pdf with the new pdf which is not containing the sensitive data? Please provide me a sample (dummy file) to have an idea about the interface/layout of the bank statement.. .so that I can develop the application accordingly keeping that layout under consideration.
