The objective of this assignment is for you to use Microsoft Visio and represent a real-world network in a network diagram application. Part 1 - Diagram - Use Microsoft Visio to create a physical diagram of the network on the 2nd floor of C Building. (The diagram should be on Page-1 of the Visio diagram.) A Visio file has been provided to give you a layout of the 2nd floor of C Building. For the purposes of this assignment, assume that each room is configured similar to SC-258, with a rack in the corner and a Cisco Catalyst 3850 switch providing connectivity to all of the PCs in the room. (This is NOT how each room is actually setup, but let's assume that for this assignment.) There is a network/telecom closet on the second floor in the middle of the hallway, near the rest rooms. This is where all of the classrooms would connect. The telecom closet is where there would be a connection to the campus backbone, providing connectivity to other buildings and the internet. Requirements: Use Cisco Visio Stencils to represent the switches, wireless access points and IP phones For this assignment, use stencils for Cisco Catalyst 3850 switches. Use an appropriate Cisco wireless access point stencil. It is OK to make some educated guesses or assumptions. It is OK to include PCs, printers or VoIP phones in the diagram, but do NOT represent ALL the devices in every room! (It is unnecessary for this assignment and it will create a very congested diagram.) You do NOT need to use a network rack in each room. Use appropriate stencils (non-Cisco if necessary) to represent other equipment, if you choose Use appropriately colored lines to represent the different cable types. You should use appropriate copper cabling correctly Cat 6 cabling does not have standard colors, but you can assign specific colors for specific purposes, like purple for wireless access points and green for VOIP phones You should use appropriate fiber cabling correctly Multimode fiber is usually represented with orange or red Singlemode fiber is usually represented with yellow, BUT remember that it needs to be visible. So a darker yellow or orange-ish yellow is fine. Assume one or more switches for each classroom. Appropriately label the switches and access points to describe their location and use (Example: room number and device type) You do NOT need to label PCs or IP phones or anything else. Only the networking equipment (switches and APs) needs labels. Incorporate a legend identifying the devices deployed AND the cable types used.
