We have an Office Password Recovery tool that's missing the final touch when it comes to recovering Access 2000&XP Passwords (which are XOR encrypted).
Looking for someone who has experience with such passwords to complete our project - currently it only recovers passwords that are smaller than 18 chars.
If you are good with hex editors, and encryption, if you have done this before, please bid. Alternatively, if you are an expert assembler programmer we can guide you on an "alternative" path to solving our issue.
The project is written in Visual C++ and MFC, so you would have to write the following function in C / C++. (Please note that we are ONLY interested in Access 2000&XP)
UINT AccessRecoverPassword(LPSTR lpFilePath,LPSTR lpRecoveredPassword)
Parameters:
[in] lpFilePath - the full path to the Access file [out] lpRecoveredPassword - the recovered password
Return values:
return 0 in case of success, and a positive error code otherwise (for example if the file cannot be read)
If necessary we will provide the winning coder with our partially working function - please specify if you need it in your bid.
A demo of a successful software that recovers full length passwords from Access 2000&XP databases (i.e. 20 chars is the max) will result in your bid being selected.
For any question, contact us through RAC.
