Development of an RPM package for Linux (Centos 5.1, 32 and 64 bit) to install an application. The RPM package installs an application ready to use into an Oracle 10g/11g database plus other components external to the database. Part of the installation is the execution of Linux and Oracle configurations. The application to be installed is called DirectInfo, an enterprise search engine. DirectInfo consists of a set of SQL and PL/SQL scripts to be intalled into the database. Other scripts exist to install other components or for configuration. An experienced developer who is familiar with the manual installation of DirectInfo under Linux is available at all times to assist the package development process and answer clarifying questions regarding the installation requirements. Prior to installing DirectInfo, the Oracle database is allready installed and available. The RPM installation of DirectInfo checks for the existence of an Oracle database and validates if the database version is supported by DirectInfo. The installation of DirectInfo should run with a minimum of required user interaction. You do develop the RPM package, manage the development process with regard to the needed communication and interaction with our developers and finally prove success by demonstrating an installation of DirectInfo without errors. After an initial investigation (if needed) of the manual, script based DirectInfo installation you propse what needs to be done and what tasks need to be executed in what order to create the DirectInfo RPM package. Then you deliver it with our support where needed. Any suggestions how to best go about to develop and maintain the DirectInfo RPM package efficiently and effective are welcomed! ## Deliverables a) RPM package to install the application DirectInfo on Linux (Centos, Redhat 4 and 5, 32 and 64 bit) b) All intermediate development results (sources, scripts etc) to create and maintain the DirectInfo RPM package c) A brief document describing the requirements for and how to create and maintain the DirectInfo RPM package. d) A brief written confirmation that by looking at DirectInfo, the development of an DirectInfo RPM package is possible with reasonable effort e) Before the RPM development a brief document which outlines the planned RPM creation steps and tools used. f) A demonstration that the DirectInfo RPM package can be installed without errors after it is being downloaded with Firefox and the rpm installation process is started automatically by Firefox prompting the user "Do you want to install this pacage?". 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
