I neeed a small web interface which manages usernames and passwords which are allowed to access a directory. I am not sure if this should be a simple project which 1.) manages an .htaccess and .htpasswd files OR 2.) if this should simply be the [login to view URL] script inside the directory which checks usernames and passwords from a mySQL database prior to showing any other pages. The problem with choice 2 is if the pages are static .html pages and anyone hits them directly without going through the [login to view URL] script they might be able to see them. I can only therefore imagine that .htaccess and .htpasswd on a FreeBSD unix system is the only secure way to password protect a directory with numerous usernames and passwords. I am open to your thoughts and comments on all issues of this bid request. Interface should: 1.) have an add feature to add a username and password 2.) a manage feature to see a list of all usernames and reset a password for any particular username if necessary or delete access all together for any particular username and password. That should be it. Of course, the interface itself MUST be password protected so that only an ADMIN can make these changes (ie. admin username / password). Time is of essense on this project as I need this ASAP. -David
