Write some Software

Need a Visual Basic based program that presentation of laboratory data on a graph. I would consider anything from Excel VBA based program to standalone VB(.NET) program, to whatever else you would suggest for what I need. I'd like to outline general items that need to be met, and then we can work out details based on your idea of a solution. General items to meet: 1. Present data on a graph (Y axis: readings of some kind, X axis: square-root-of-time for each reading) 2. Program should be able to automatically draw a best fitting curve for given data 3. A user should be able to draw and modify real-time tangents to the curve. This is the most important functionality! The above two functionalities are basically available in Excel, but this not to my knowledge. Maybe can be implemented with some VBA programming in Excel. It is welcome it the program can draw tangent for the curve at certain points, but a user must be able to modify these tangents real-time by moving them via mouse. Also program should be able to return an intercept and slope for a drawn tangent. This functionality would be helpful for 'Calculation of coefficient of consolidation from laboratory test results' - square-room-of-time method. This method can be easily searched on-line for more details. Search keywords: Consolidation test, square-room-of-time method, Su's maximum slope method. I would appreciate sharing your idea on how would you resolve this problem.
