CAD support for composites / surfboard fabrication R&D

This is will be fun work for someone who wants to be part of a leading edge development team. We are a growing surfboard and windsurf board manufacturer. We require someone who can provide ad hoc support to our R&D team for CAD file manipulation. Regular tasks include: 1. Comparison of laser scan point clouds and CAD data using freeware cloudcompare ([login to view URL]). This may include preparation /cleaning of pointcloud data. 2. Modification of CAD surface models, typically in preparation for machining (5 axis), in accordance with pre-defined rules we will provide (you'll need your own solidworks license or equivalent). For example splitting a surface into two parts. 3. Entering data into our online fabrication (this is a copy - paste numerical data exercise which will be automated in time) All files will be either emailed or shared on dropbox and access will be provided to our database where needed. Moreover we expect to provide guide videos for how we would like the work to be done. We may have 3-10 tasks for each per week - linked to specific product we'll make and we have estimated this is ~10 hours per week though this may go up and down. We don't expect this requires an experienced designer but some problem solving skills would be of value and the freelancer must be competent with CAD. We are also unclear on pay expectations hence have given a wide range so we can assess market expectations. In addition we require someone who can undertake other tasks which may extend to design of product or other mechanical systems. If you're good we'll have lots for you to do and we wish to develop a long term working relationship with 1-3 people.
